Bursledon Primary

The Primary classroom is home to children from Year R to Year 6 who are staying at Bursledon House. The relaxed classroom environment is usually home to a small group of 6 or less pupils. Work is pitched at the ability of the child with aspirational targets for them to achieve. Attending school within Southampton Children’s Hospital School is a unique opportunity for children to build on their prior understanding and develop key skills with 1:1 support which many children find hugely beneficial. Independence is also encouraged and fostered within our school.

Children within Bursledon Primary are sometimes afforded the opportunity to go on visits. Prior visits have included the local church, Marwell Zoo and the Nuffield Theatre to see their performance of Fantastic Mr Fox as our Christmas theatre trip. Children in the Primary and Secondary classrooms are also able to work with their peers to develop their cooking skills on one afternoon a week in the adjoining Ronald MacDonald building.
