Hello, my name is Jane Williams and I am the SENDCo at Southampton Hospital School. I have been teaching for over 25 years and in that time I have worked both with adults and children aged from two to eighteen. I love being the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator here in our hospital school and am passionate about helping our students access the best education and support we can provide, whilst they are receiving treatment or recovering from illness.
As well as working with the children, my day to day job is to oversee the operation of our school’s SEN education policy. I am responsible for ensuring our staff have the appropriate training as well as communicating with schools, parents and the external agencies associated with the children. Another important role is working closely with all of the different therapists here in the hospital.
I can usually be found up on the children’s wards on G level and can always be contacted by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
