Healthy Minds, Strong Families

On Thursday 14th June all the schools in the Jeffreys Education Partnership came together to host an event for families on how to be mentally healthy and overcome anxiety. The event was really well attended with over 100 families enjoying the activities and talks on offer. Lorraine Lee gave two fabulous interactive talks aimed at helping families cope with the anxieties which arise around schools and attendance. There were numerous stalls and activities available for families to visit and take part in, including pizza wrap making, sport activities with Team Spirit, advice on what anxiety is, strategies for dealing with anxieties and what ELSAs do and how they can help. Pupils were also invited to take part in a competition to make a poster about “what being mentally healthy means to you” which were all displayed in an exhibition and each entrant got put into a raffle. The prizes included family days out and lots of mindfulness resources. The event had a wonderful atmosphere and the families who attended got a lot out of it.
